To: HR, Learning and Development department Re: Bursary Motivation Letter I would like to recommend that you consider P Mitchell for the Retail Loans Bursary award/program. The above-mentioned staff is currently employed as a Collections Manager at Retail Loans, and he has shown great leadership capabilities with continuous improved performance. According to the 2024 financial year performance review he has been rated Exceed Expectations. Percy is looking at studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce (Postgrad) through the University of South Africa (UNISA). This qualification is a business qualification but with more focus in law. This is in line with the staff PDP as it will help enhance his business insight and understanding from legal, risk and compliance perspective, amongst other things. The candidate currently holds a Bachelor of commerce (NQF 7) majoring in Law and a diploma in paralegal studies where he majored in commercial law that included modules such as Business law, Debt collections, Wills and Estates and Property Law, amongst others. The bank has placed additional focus on compliance in recent years. Operations has been under massive scrutiny to ensure operational practises are complaint and within the framework of an everchanging regulatory environment. Treating customers fairly is a key requirement within our organisation, and one of the ways to achieve this is to ensure we understand how to apply and build business solutions within the legal and regulatory framework. For these reasons, I believe Percy’s current academic path will be of great value to the business going forward. I believe that the staff meets the criterion required and I hope that he will be considered. Yours Faithful,
