INDE4120 Operations Research II: Midterm Exam Materials and Venue Winter 2025 Hello All, The midterm exam will be written on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 2:30 pm, in CEI, Room 2100 (same time and venue of the tutorial). The duration of the exam is about 100 minutes. Please be there on time or earlier. The topic of the midterm test relates to Markov Chains, see chapter 17 of the textbook of Wayne Winston, Edition 4, Operations Research, Applications and Algorithms. If you are using an older edition, the chapter number may be different from the latest Edition 4. Included also in the midterm materials, is the topic on Review of Probability concepts. This topic was covered in the posted lecture slides titled “Lecture 01_Review of Prob Concepts,” along with some sections from chapter 12. The midterm exam is an open book, and you are allowed to use the textbook or a print copy of it. The book, either the original copy or the print format must be free from any personal notes. The print copies of the book must be bound (no loose materials/pages are allowed during any exams). Accordingly, the book and/or copy of the book will be inspected by the exam invigilators. If any of the above-indicated documents (book and print copy of the book) are found nonconforming, the student will continue the exam without any materials (as if it is a closed-book exam). The seized document and the exam booklet will be inspected further by the exam proctors during the marking process. It is important and required that you bring your U of Windsor ID card for identification purposes. Students must always have their cards available on the desk during the exam. Valid Student ID Card must be presented to be eligible to write the exam. You are kindly required to write your exam using pens only. Using pencils may be possible and restricted to cases where a diagram or sketch is required /helpful to support your answer. The use of washrooms is permitted once during the exam. In the event of a personal /medical reason, a student can inform the exam proctors / the instructor before the exam day and time. In this case, accommodation will be made. Electronics such as laptops, iPads, cellphones, etc., are not allowed and should be turned off (airplane mode) and placed in the student's bag and the bag stowed on the floor. Calculators as described in the course outline (basic scientific calculators) are allowed. As seating pattern is important, exam proctors may assign seats to students. Good luck, Walid
