● Matter is made up of very small particles called atoms.
● Atoms cannot be broken down or divided further into parts.
● An atom contains two main parts, the nucleus and the orbits.
● They contain subatomic particles.
1)Protons : Positively charged, found in the nucleus
2)Neutron : Neutral or no change, found in the nucleus
3)Electron: Negatively charged, moves around the nucleus in orbits/shells
● Atomic number of an atom is its number of proton or electron
● Atomic mass of an atom is the sum of its protons and neutrons, residing
in its nucleus.
