MAKING MEANING
Essential Question
Enduring Understandings
Students will keep considering the following question:
Students will understand that:

How do describing words enhance the way you
express and communicate your emotions in daily
conversations?

Describing words help us express our emotions
more clearly and make our conversations more
meaningful. They add detail and strength to our
words, helping others understand exactly how
we feel. Instead of just saying we are happy or
sad, adjectives let us show the depth of our
emotions, making communication more
expressive and engaging. This helps people
respond better to our feelings and connect with
us on a deeper level.

 EN9G-IIIe-21: Use verbal.

VALUES INTEGRATION: Adjectives enhance communication by making our emotions clearer, more
vivid, and easier for others to understand. They allow us to express feelings with accuracy, making
conversations more meaningful and engaging. Striving for excellence in all endeavors means being
intentional with our words, ensuring they reflect our thoughts and emotions effectively. Just as excellence
requires effort and precision in everything we do, using adjectives thoughtfully shows our commitment to
clear, impactful, and respectful communication, helping us build stronger connections with others.
HOME DELIGHT: Create a visual adjective collage that represents who you are using at least 10
adjectives. Your collage should creatively combine words, images, and colors to express your personality,
strengths, and interests. Design a digital collage using Canva, PowerPoint, or any creative tool, and submit
it on our Google Classroom.
