Dear Editors and Reviewers from the Case Studies on Transport Policy journal
My name is Vu Van-Huy, and I am from Vietnam. With a focused research
background in transportation systems and a specific interest in improving urban
mobility, I am eager to contribute my expertise in evaluating bus movement
dynamics and their interactions with other road users.
During my recent study, titled “Assessment of bus movement and their
interactions with motorcyclists in mixed traffic condition: An expanded model”, I
addressed critical gaps in analyzing bus driver behavior and their impact on
motorcyclists using an innovative expanded model. The research leveraged
advanced traffic surveillance data, specialized analytical software, and a robust
methodological framework, incorporating eight unique indices to overcome
traditional limitations. Conducted in Hanoi, this case study not only highlighted
significant findings - such as the pronounced effects of bus lane changes on
motorcyclists - but also demonstrated the practicality of employing the propensity
score matching (PSM) method to assess bus-motorcycle interactions
comprehensively.
My expertise spans traffic data analysis, model development, and a deep
understanding of public transportation systems, with a commitment to translating
findings into actionable recommendations for policy and infrastructure
improvements. Coupled with my experience in using tools like T-surveyor and PSM
methodologies, I am confident in my ability to make meaningful contributions to
your team’s objectives.

advance transportation research and enhance urban planning strategies.
