TOPIC 1 One invention that has been very useful for me is the smartphone. It was invented for communication, but now it is used for many things, like studying, entertainment, and navigation. I use my phone every day. When I go into a new place, I check maps. On my way to university, I read notes or watch videos to learn. There are many advantages. Messages are sent instantly, and there are apps for studying. But smartphones also have disadvantages. Many people spend too much time on them without realizing it. Sometimes, I check something quickly but end up scrolling through social media for a long time. Also, walking across the street while looking at your phone can be dangerous. Another problem is that information can be shared too easily. Fake news spreads fast, so it’s important to check reliable sources. Even with these disadvantages, I couldn’t live without my phone. I try to cut down on unnecessary phone use. In the end, smartphones have changed our lives, and if we use them responsibly, they are an amazing tool! TOPIC 2 I used to be very indecisive, especially when buying things. I didn’t use to think too much about small decisions, but now I overthink everything. One time, I had to buy a new phone. I spent weeks deciding because I couldn’t choose between two models. One might have a better camera, but the other might be faster. In the end, I waited too long, and both were out of stock! My friends also have trouble deciding. One of them takes forever to order food, and another never knows what to wear. So do I! I always change my mind before leaving the house. But indecision might not always be bad. Thinking carefully helps us make better choices. Now, I try to decide faster and not overthink too much.
