Listening for detail
When you are listening for detail, you are interested in a specific kind of
information. This information can be about a name, a place, an object, a
number or quantity. Before you listen, you need to have an idea of what you
are going to listen to. When you start to listen, you need to pay attention to
that detail.
Example:
● Sarah went to Istanbul in 2022, stayed for a week and visited Hagia
Sophia on the second day.
In this example we need to pay attention to name, times and place.
● To make a painting you need brushes, paints and a canvas
In this example we need to pay attention to ingredients.
