Long Division with Remainders - Checklist
Divide.
Divide into the first digit, if possible.

Multiply.
This lets us check our work and sets us up for the next ​
step.

Subtract.
This tells us how many parts we have left over after ​
dividing.
← 1 part left over
Bring down the next number.
We have to make sure to work with all parts of the ​
number we are dividing.
Repeat.
Divide, multiply, and subtract until there are no more ​
numbers to bring down.
Check for remainders.
A remainder is what’s left over after dividing a number ​
into equal parts.
Write the remainder at the top as part of the answer.
