Ayurveda’s Perspective on
Allergies
Ayurveda considers allergy as an
imbalance of doshas namely Vata, Pitta
and Kapha.
As per Ayurveda, the improper seasons,
sense organ activity and physical actions
leads to state of dosha misbalance
within the body and mind.
Allergy is a condition in which along
with all the other doshas Kapha dosha
predominant vitiation is been observed.
In general, the term Allergy can be
correlated to "Srotasam Atipravruti"
translated as the "over action of body
channels".
Why is There an Imbalance
in Doshas?
Ayurveda explains that
the vitiation of these
channels leads to diseases
and normalcy maintains
health.
• Improper diet
• Improper regimen
• Dosha increasing other factors
and
• Dhatu increasing other factors
are the causative factors for Srotas
vitiation or "Body channels
vitiation".
