MOTIVERET ANSØGNING Uddannelse: BSc in Business, Language and Culture Ansøgers navn: Arthur Løvgren Frandsen Hi, my name is Arthur Løvgren Frandsen. I’m 21 years old and I come from Esbjerg, DK. Throughout my years of education, I have been at two schools. My first 6 years of education was spent at a private school called Esbjerg Realskole, and then I finished my last years at a sports school called Vitaskolen, because I played a lot of football back then. Afterwards I stopped focusing on football and shifted my attention towards studying and socializing at Rybners gymnasium, where I took a HHX education with specific focus on Economy, English, Business and International economy/trade. Even though much of my attention and energy was targeted at school, I still prioritized making connections and friendships at my gymnasium, which was why I applied and shortly later participated in my school’s party committee, where I gained qualities such as professionalism towards friends, multitasking, problem-solving and in general improving socially with my fellow students. It was unfortunately cut short, because of the Corona pandemic, and my last year and a half was therefore mostly online on zoom, which presented a challenge, in terms of participation, commitment and involvement in my classes. Luckily it didn’t last forever, and I finished gymnasium on a high note, in person with my classmates. Finally, I graduated in 2021, and then began having my gap years. I decided that I wanted to do something abroad, because the Corona pandemic had affected a lot of trips during my time at Rybners. Therefore, I applied for a working holiday in Canada with two of my friends. We were accepted by a ski resort called SilverStar and spent the next 5,5 months working on the resort, skiing and socializing with all the other internationals working on the mountain. During the months in Canada my English was greatly improved. Afterwards, I returned home and worked for a year at a wineshop called AndrupVin, where I worked mostly in storage but also took part in our physical and online shop, where we helped our costumers with their needs. Since the start of January, I’ve been spending my third gap year at Aarhus Idrætshøjskole, and my stay here is ending the 21st of June. In conclusion, my gap years have been spent focusing on traveling, making forever lasting experiences/connections, appreciating what you’ve got and most importantly for me, developing myself as a person, and figuring out how I want to live, and what I want to do in the future. These experiences have now pointed me towards BSc Business, Language and Culture in Copenhagen. I find the study exciting and attractive, because of the intercultural involvement you get to work with, and because of my big interest in the key words connected to the study, such as economics, language, international business and communication, and the general focus on creating results and relations with other cultures and countries. I believe myself to be a good match for Business, Language and Culture, because of the skills learnt at my gymnasium, but also most definitely because the personal skills I’ve developed and improved over the years. I have gained/improved skills such as responsibility, competitiveness productivity, efficiency, cooperativeness and business mindedness throughout my time studying. In addition, my social skills have improved immensely while traveling and during my stay here at the højskole. My curiosity dealing with internationals and their cultures has spiked as well, and so I find myself drawn by the study. After the bachelor, I would love to spend my masters working abroad for a firm or organization helping them maintaining international relations and results in their competitive markets, while cooperating with others. I would prefer cooperating with others, because I find working with others inspiring, comfortable and self-improving because of the feedback you can give and receive from others, which can be complementary and eye-opening. I am fully aware that starting and completing a long and higher education places great demands on the individual student, but I can assure you, that I am ready to give the study all I’ve got. I hope you will take my application into consideration. Kind regards, Arthur Løvgren Frandsen.
