BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY
Use and dump of conventional building materials has been met with serious
concerns over the past few decades.
Introduction
A significant movement towards sustainable infrastructure has begun, evident
when you look around, and with terms used albeit interchangeably in
construction industry.
Concept of sustainable buildings is synonymous to sustainable growth and
development of cities and its citizen.
The construction industry in Nigeria have also adopted sustainability measures
in housing projects.
Quantity surveyors just like numerous stakeholders are heavily involved in this
practice also.

Introduction
Evident that quantity surveyors are fully involved in sustainable constructions
But to what extent in roles performed ?
To identify the level of involvement in performance duly observed in most
construction projects.
To observe factors that influences the level of their involvement.

AIM OF THE STUDY
The aim of this study is to assess the involvement of the Quantity Surveyor in the
delivery of sustainable housing projects in Lagos, Nigeria with a view to
enhancing Quantity Surveying professional services
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 Examine the relative importance of the roles performed by Quantity Surveyors
in the delivery of sustainable housing projects
 Assess the extent to which Quantity Surveyors are involved in the performance
of their roles in the delivery of sustainable housing projects
