healthy weight is important
because it helps reduce your risk
for developing various diseases.
Many factors influence one’s
weight such as heredity, eating
habits, food preferences and
selection, the amount of daily
physical activity or exercise, and
even one’s emotional state.
A healthy diet and regular
physical activity are therefore
keys for long-term weight control.
Energy balance is the
relationship between the calories
you consume (energy intake) and
the calories you expend (energy
output) overtime.
Carbohydrates is a good source of
fiber. It provides a more
sustainable source of energy in
the diet.
Minerals are inorganic substances
that are involved in water balance,

nerve
impulse
stimulation,
acid-base balance, and energy
reactions.
Variety refers to consuming
assorted foods from different food
groups every day.
Moderation is all about eating food
in right proportions.
Fad diets are not nutritionally
balanced
Water carries nutrients to cells
and waste products away from
cells. It serves as a body lubricant,
and through sweat, helps maintain
body temperature.
The principle of rest and recovery
stipulate that adequate rest is
needed to allow the body to adapt
and recover from exercise.
