As part of IM awareness session; some of the members have raised the concern on Date format to
be used for project deliverables, including dwgs and documents. Some discipline are using DD-MM-
YY and some are using DD-MM-YYYY; as per SP-2065 latest revision DD-MM-YYYY needs to be
followed strictly in order to avoid any rejection during final submission.
Separator Gas outlet line ultrosonic flow meter shall be kept at higher elevation (as per SOW)
and 20D US and 7D DS shall be maintained as per mail from C&A and as per PR-1304
EMF straight length shall be optimized to 5D and 3D
No straight length is required for CMF(Coriolis Mass Flow meter).
1) Maintain minimum 230 mm clearance for drain tapings ( bottom of flange to Grade).
2) Follow bare pipe support span for personal protection lines.
3) Walkways on packaged units or on vessel access platforms-700 mm (minimum).
4) Walkways other than on packaged units or vessel access platforms - 900 mm .
5) Head room clearance 2.1m
6) 460mm: Maximum horizontal reach distance (Shoulder center to vertical axis of valve
stem/lever, Shoulder to front of valve handle).
7) Insulation thick ( personal protection) up to 8" 50mm thick
10" and above 100mm thick
8) PI PT , PG connection size- follow as per Piping spec.
9) PI PT , PG connection size - located on Pig trap and Pipeline -2” (follow as per PEFS).
10) PI PT connections- Use mono flange slim line DBB for 900# (Piping,Pigtrap and pipeline) ,
Use mono flange slim line SBB for 600# (Piping,Pigtrap and pipeline) ,
11) TI connections – follow as per Piping spec.
12) Without insulation- Minimum distance between flange to Pipe /Pipe to Pipe – 75mm
13) With insulation- Minimum distance between flange to Pipe /Pipe to Pipe – 30mm
14) Use only welded shoes, don’t use clamped shoes.
15) Non slope lines- Use bearing plate for DSS lines and Simple rest for CS lines ( No bearing
plate).
16) Non slope lines- use wear plate for CS, DSS & SS lines Axial stop locations.
17) Slope lines- CS lines- shoes without wear plate.
18) Slope lines- DSS/SS lines- shoes with wear pate.
19) Shoe height – we use 100mm height & 150mm height , please discuss while modelling.
We have had a lesson learnt for the painting code requirement for valves coming under insulation.
This is specifically applicable to PDO projects. But should be verified on other Contracts against other
Client’s standards.
The painting code for lines with insulation maybe different from the lines without insulation. Refer to
SP-1246 for the same. Pl. note that for lines having wire-mesh type of personnel protection, the
painting code will be considering uninsulated piping.
If in doubt, ensure that the same is clarified with the Material and Corrosion personnel on the project.
Accordingly ensure the below :
1. In the MTOs valves which are coming with insulation needs to be identified and the correct
painiting code to be provided so that it is addressed in the PO and further checked during
Vendor Document Review
2. The correct painting codes are identified in the linelist – for insulated/ traced lines
3. The correct painiting code is reflected in the isometrics.
All DP type level transmitters- There is no scope for piping in the vent drain (Piping won't model and
won’t take MTOs into consideration).
LG – We are considering ¾" vent and drain in accordance with the piping specification, as confirmed
by the process (this vent and drains are Piping scope).
THERMOWELL CONNECTIONS
1. Flanged thermowells shall be designed in accordance with the following options:
a. For run pipe DN 80 (NPS 3) and larger and shall be selected from Table 4:

The requirement of Insulating gaskets on Test Separator nozzles to be re-checked. As per
latest KAIZEN PEFS (by RIEC), insulating gaskets are provided however Today forum was of
the opinion that insulating gaskets are not required considering that the vessel is internally
cladded. Re-confirm the requirement of Insulating gaskets with Material Team.
-
For size 8” (600#), RIEC is using spade / spacer; however this is challenged in today model
review and proposed to go with spectacle blind. DES31 can be approached for more details.
Same to be checked for 900# as well.
-
It is required to eliminate pocket/dead leg in the sample take off (oil and water) at the inlet to
sample cabinet.
-
As per UEFM1, low capacity IA package capacity shall have horizontal IA receiver (not
vertical). Check IA receiver arrangement in RMS Package 31 and 32 on piping drawings.
-
In Package 34, provision valve (SBB) to/from MWTU shall comply with the requirement of
SPE/DPE. Valve tags are 34-VBL-00018/00020.
-
Maintain 10D upstream Test Separator inlet nozzle inline with the below Figure 21 from DEP
