Awareness Session for the Parents
Objective: the aim of the session is to raise awareness on sexual abuse among parents and
caregivers
Outcome:
o By end of the session
 Parents will be able to differentiate between different types of sexual abuse
 Parent will be familiar with sign and symptoms of sexual abuse among different
age groups
 Parents will understand the psychological effect on children and adolescent who
were sexually abused
 Parents will be knowledgeable on how to react, act, and report when they
suspect a sexual abuse case
 Parents will be knowledgeable on how to educate their child and adolescent on
sexual abuse
Target population: parents and caregivers of children and adolescents in the community
Language: Arabic
Activity:
o Duration: 1.5 hours (depending on number of audiance0
o Pre and post test
 5 min at the beginning
 5 min towards end
o Ice break activity
 Parents will be asked to share their knowledge and their expectation from the
session
 5 min
o Interactive session to meet the session outcome

Outcome:

 Teachers will be able to differentiate between different types of sexual abuse










Teachers will be familiar with sign and symptoms of sexual abuse among
different age groups
 Teachers will understand the psychological effect on children and adolescent
who were sexually abused
 Teachers will be knowledgeable on how to react, act, and report when they
suspect a sexual abuse case
Target population: School teachers (KG1 to grade 12)

 Students will be familiar with sign and symptoms of sexual abuse among
different age groups
 Students will understand the psychological effect on children and adolescent
who were sexually abused
 Students will be knowledgeable on how to react, act, and report when they are
victims of sexual abuse or when someone they know has been sexually abused
Target population: Boys and Girls 13 years and above
