My name is Gabriele Narcisi, I grew up in Rome, Italy and always went to St George’s British International School, classed as one of the best British international schools in Italy. I am very comfortable with the English education system and I am uently bilingual in both English and Italian, bringing to the table excellent tutoring skills for both international and local students in the university. As a man of science and logic, hard work would be the only way onwards in life yet, hope brings all of us forward in search of a better future, I hope my fate will be joining this university and becoming an independent, self-su cient man that will contribute to research in life improvements for the community. My interest in sciences started to develop when I was around 6 years old after watching my mother treating a patient in her own studio, as a Physiotherapist. The part that stayed with me the most, is the emotion conveyed from the patient's face to my mother by just one sitting with her. This sense of accomplishment really stuck with me throughout these years until I came to the decision to start pursuing my lifelong milestone of becoming an environmental scientist by picking the subjects that I am studying in this A level course. This will let me ful l my life long desire to become someone in this world that can change and contribute to humanity through research and solutions to factual problems that a ect communities around the world. As a former House Prefect, my role is to welcome and help new students in a loving and familylike environment made up of multiple cultures and ethnicities present in the house. This facilitates students to be more themselves and socialise with others rather than avoiding confrontation. In my career as a Prefect I dealt with issues regarding pupils or sta but I always found a way to solve them, proving my excellent leadership skills. Furthermore, I am also an ELT club volunteer, helping sta with organisation of the club for the students to be in a safe and warm/loving environment. For me, understanding students is a key element in being able to make them feel comfortable in quite an overwhelming environment such as school and this heavily relates with the real world as for Mental Health. I developed a burning passion in participating in sports and activities, such as Water Polo, from a very young age. I cultivated this hobby until it became a full time investment for both my mental and physical health by having competition and rivalry between players. I was promoted to Team Captain for my dedication and performance in matches across Italy, granting me to have secure Captainship skill sets to work upon. I continued doing it for 7 straight years Unfortunately, I had to put the sport to the side due to me coming to England to start and complete my A level course. yet, that ame has not died and it’s going to spark again. fi ff fl fi ff ffi fl ff fl The subjects that I study are Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. This gives me a broad range of practical skills such as quickly analysing and extracting essential information, that in working environments are going to be essential. For example, mathematics is at the base of almost every University course available, this will give me an advantage in problem solving, equation calculation, calculus, over my contenders for a place in the university. Chemistry and Biology go hand in hand with each other, these courses thoroughly explore the science behind everything known to man. This allows me to have con dence in applying my knowledge to the course due to it being heavily in uenced by mathematics and sciences, perfect for a STEM based career. These subjects will support me to follow an intrepid career that will forge me into the man I want to be, that is ready to face the world chin up.
