Solar Eclipse Phenomena: Light, Shadows, and Temperature

advertisement
I loved watching the eclipse. I was sure to watch the environment change around
me as the moon moved infront of the sun. The environment darkened as our light
source, the sun. I felt the temperature drop as the sun slowly was covered. I
observed the shadows as the source of the shadows left. There was such a strange
phenomenon happening on the ground while there was a crazy once in a lifetime
phenomenon happening above us in the sky. The shadows became cresent shaped,
it went from the sharp shadows to slowly distort into the cresent shape. It was very
easy to see underneath the trees. This happenes because of the shape of the source
of light. The same feature happened with the shadows as the moon left the middle
of the sun. It happened when the sun was slightly covered either waning or waxing.
The colors started to loose their contrast and the sharpness of the shadows began to
blur as the source of light decreased. Just as the lines blurred as the light decreased,
the lines sharpened and the colors regained their contrast as the light source
increased.
