Present Tenses
(When to Use them and Their Structure)
1. Simple Present Tense

Usage: To indicate habitual actions, general truth and specific time or
schedule.

Structures:
1. Singular Subject: Subject + verb ending with “s” or “-es”.
Example: The dog eats every morning.
2. Plural Subject: Subject + base form of the verb.
Example: The dogs eat every morning.
2. Present Perfect Tense

Usage: To describe an action that started from the past but still affects
the present.

Structure:
1. Singular Subject: Subject + has + past participle of the verb.
Example: The dog has eaten their food.
2. Plural Subject: Subject + have + past participle of the verb.
Example: The dogs have eaten their food.
3. Present Continuous

Usage: To show an on - going action at the present that’s temporary and
may end in no time.

Structure:
1. Singular Subject: Subject + am/is + ing form of the verb.
Example: The dog is eating their food.
2. Plural Subject: Subject + are + ing form of the verb.
Example: The dogs are eating their food.
