ABOUT ME
My name is Sienna Shawn Nunez, and I am 17 years old. When I first saw Business
Communications listed on my school bulletin, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I
approached the class with an open mind, seeing it as a fresh start and a chance to grow.
However, during the first session, I was immediately overwhelmed with anxiety as the
professor outlined his high expectations, especially regarding the 3-minute and 10-minute
presentations. Speaking in front of people always makes me nervous, so the challenge felt
daunting. But I came back the next class determined to push through my fears and work
hard.
Throughout the semester, I learned more than I ever anticipated. Despite the
challenges, Business Communications became one of my favorite classes. I gained a
deeper understanding of how crucial communication is, especially how your words and
delivery can reveal so much about you. I learned that preparation is key to any successful
presentation, and that every word you speak should have purpose. Additionally, I learned
about work place ethics and how to construct proper business messages. Moving forward,
I plan to apply these lessons in new environments by ensuring that I communicate with
intention, whether in school, in the workplace, or in personal interactions. By doing so, I
hope to build stronger connections and overcome any barriers that once made me
hesitant.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am reaching out to express my interest in the position of sales clerk. I discovered this vacancy
through LinkedIn and was inclined to apply. I strive for hard work and commit to excellence. I
am always open to learning new things and hope to make a valuable contribution in any work

management. Given my education and experience, I am confident that I possess the skills
necessary to contribute to your team and provide excellent customer service.
In fact, I was fortunate to secure a three-week summer position at San Pedro Town Council. As
an assistant to accountants, I scanned and organized documents, ensuring accuracy and
maintaining clear records, which directly relates to handling pricing and product details at
Brothers Habet. I completed my tasks as efficiently as possible, setting up my screen in a way
where I could scan and insert receipts in QuickBooks in 45 seconds. Additionally, my leadership
experience as a search leader in high school taught me how to interact professionally with people
and colleagues, responding effectively to questions and managing tasks under pressure. As a
leader, I delivered a personal story to a large group of people which helped me develop my
public speaking skills and build confidence in presenting information clearly. Apart from this,
my graphic design course has also helped me develop an eye for presentation, which will be
beneficial in maintaining product displays and ensuring a clean and organized store
environment. For instance, I designed logos, flyers, and product illustrations for class projects.

I am currently pursuing an associate degree in Tourism Management with a strong foundation in
business. As part of my graduation requirements, I am required to do 160 hours of internship. I
am particularly drawn to Grand Caribe’s reputation for innovation and commitment to excellent
customer service. I believe Grand Caribe provides an excellent opportunity to apply my skills

Given my education and experience, I am confident that I possess the skills necessary to execute
any task and role assigned. In fact, I was fortunate to secure a three-week summer position at San
Pedro Town Council. As an Assistant to Accountants, I scanned and organized documents,
ensuring accuracy and maintaining clear records. I completed my tasks as efficiently as possible,
setting up my screen in a way where I could scan and insert receipts in QuickBooks in 45

to interact professionally with people and colleagues, responding effectively to questions and
managing tasks under pressure. As a leader, I had to deliver a personal story to a large group of
people which helped me develop my public speaking skills and build confidence in presenting
information clearly.
Apart for that, in my Graphic Design class, I developed creative problem-solving skills. For
example, I designed logos, flyers, and product illustrations, coming up with ideas that matched
client needs, target audiences, and brand identity. I listened to feedback and adjusted my designs

INTERVIEW RESULTS

INTERVIEW REFLECTION
The interview was an amazing experience for me and taught me so much. It highlighted the
importance of preparation in everything you do in life. For my interview, I took the time to do
background research on the company I was applying to and reviewed typical interview questions.
I also watched several YouTube videos on how to ace an interview and practiced my responses to
common questions. This preparation process gave me a deeper understanding of how to approach
an interview with confidence.
One of the key things I learned during my prep was the importance of body language. I
practiced maintaining eye contact, sitting up straight, and having a firm handshake—all of which
are crucial in making a good first impression. These small details, which I had never considered
before, can have a big impact on how an interviewer perceives you. Another important takeaway
was the mindset I developed going into the interview. I realized that you must approach the
interview with confidence, be ready to take control of the conversation, and stay calm even when
faced with tough questions.
Another critical lesson I learned was the importance of always asking a question at the end
of the interview, regardless of the situation. This shows your interest in the company and the role
and leaves a lasting impression that you are engaged and thoughtful. In the end, I was extremely
proud of myself. The process not only boosted my interview skills but also built my confidence
in navigating the professional world.

REFLECTION #1
In this workshop, I learned the basics of creating a professional resume and cover letter.
Before attending, I honestly didn’t even know what a cover letter was. I knew that submitting a
resume was standard when applying for a job, but I didn’t fully understand the role of a cover
letter or what it should include. Through this workshop, I realized that presenting yourself
professionally and forming how an employer perceives you begins from the moment you submit
your application. This first impression is important and affects how seriously your application is
taken.
Mrs. Gail Brooks emphasized the importance of relevance and accuracy in both
documents. I now understand that a resume should only include factual information—skills,
qualifications, and experiences that you genuinely possess. For example, adding skills that you
don’t actually have can damage your trustworthiness if they are questioned later. Additionally , a
cover letter should focus on explaining your relevant skills and how you can use them to
contribute to the specific role or organization you’re applying to.
One part of the workshop I particularly enjoyed was the group activity. At our table, we
worked together to create a section of a cover letter. This activity was very informative because I
got to hear different perspectives and ideas from my peers, some of which inspired me and
helped me improve my own cover letter.
Overall, this workshop provided me with knowledge that will benefit me not only during
my current internship applications but also throughout my career. The skills I gained in writing
clear and purposeful cover letters and resumes are something I can use for a lifetime, helping me
succeed in all future professional endeavors.

REFLECTION #2
In the second workshop, my advisor, Mr. Sanchez, broke down the details of what our
internship truly entails. Before this, I knew we were required to complete an internship during
the December break, but I wasn’t clear on the specifics. Mr. Sanchez explained the expectations,
responsibilities, and overall purpose of the internship, which cleared up many questions I had.
I realized how important it was of passing the business communications course because
then I would be unable to communicate my internship. Along with registering for BUS 253
during registration. If I don’t register properly, I won’t receive credit or a grade for the class and
will have to do my internship again.
There are many important documents related to internship which shocked me and was
unexpected. I didn’t think it was that complex. For example, he discussed the time card, which
I’ll need to complete with my supervisor. I'll need to decide whether to fill it out daily or weekly,
depending on what works best for both of us. The time card is an important document because it
tracks the hours you work during your internship. It confirms I have completed all hours of my
internship. The learning contract is another important document, and I need to schedule a time
with the organization to meet and complete it. I also learned that I must give my supervisor the
evaluation paper a few days before my final day, to allow them enough time to complete it.
After reviewing all the deadlines and due dates, I realized that staying organized and on top
of things during my internship will be crucial. I can’t afford to miss any deadlines or make
mistakes. This workshop highlighted how important it is to manage time efficiently and
communicate clearly with my supervisor to ensure everything is completed on time. It is just an
introduction to the kinds of deadlines there will be in the work place.

REFLECTION #3
The final workshop gave me important knowledge as I get ready to join the workforce,
covering everything it involves. The speaker was great, and I really liked how he interacted with
the audience throughout the session. His thoughts on different topics were not only helpful but
also made me think more deeply, making the whole experience meaningful.
One of the key concepts I took away from the discussion was the importance of business
etiquette. Simple practices like punctuality, attendance, and dressing appropriately are essential
in maintaining a professional image. What really stood out to me was how etiquette extends
beyond just basic manners. It represents an unwritten code of conduct that guides behavior,
especially when it comes to reliability—being on time and present. Additionally the speaker
emphasized the significance of treating others with courtesy, politeness, and kindness in all
business interactions. Also, we discussed appropriate and inappropriate excuses for missing work
or being late, covering situations like illnesses, personal emergencies, and weather-related issues.
After attending this workshop, I feel more knowledgeable and prepared to enter the
workforce this December. I’m excited to implement the things I’ve learned—specifically
regarding business etiquette—into my daily interactions and career. The workshop was not only
educational but also fun and interactive, providing a great way to end this phase of preparation.
I’m grateful for the engaging guest speaker and the insightful discussions that will help me
navigate the workplace with professionalism.
