Choose your power's origin Artifact: You either heard of rumors regarding priceless treasure or chanced upon a rather innocuous object. Regardless, you are now bonded to this object which grants you magical abilities. Bloodline: Whether predetermined or imbued into your family tree for generations, you begin to exhibit mystical powers. Some users only awaken their abilities later in life naturally or are manually unleashed. Pact: After digging too deep into the occult and accidentally summoning an entity, you make a deal in exchange for power. In some cases, these pacts can occur just before death, acting as a supernatural second wind. These abilities are governed by 5 tenets: Manipulation, Domain, Form, Trigger, and Caveats. Manipulation Magical abilities are a reflection of a person's personality traits, motives and background. This determines what exact things they can control. Manipulations either involve Elements or Concepts. Domain A manipulated object falls into 1 of 3 categories which determines what their exact ability will be. The 3 domains are Mind, Body & Soul. Form When wielding magic, they always manifest in a wide variety of ways ranging from objects, geometric containers or even being attached to the body. Trigger Most of the time, the magic can be manifested manually. However, sometimes they are activated once certain criterias are met. Caveats Aside from manifesting, the exact ability can only be used once certain criterias are met. This can range from things like the environment, the presence of nearby objects or even movrment. It's best to give your magic a cool name rather than a generic one. I suggest naming them after songs or musical artists, depending on what sounds cooler. Augmented Cybernetically enhanced humans whether for better or worse, are able to transcend the in built limitations of their flesh. Choose your augment style Mild: Almost indistinguishable from regular humans. These guys possess very little cybernetics, mostly to enhance their existing abilities and provide additional utility Basic: More noticeable than either of the 2 styles, they tend to possess prosthetic limbs or larger implants among many other things. They exceed both baseline humans and the mildly augmented. Heavy: The heavily augmented either have a monstrous appearance or look almost completely human with the sheer amount of cybernetics installed. Cybernetics Baseline Run on the mill humans who lack either of the above traits. However, this lends to their increased versatility and camouflage in populated environments. Choose your preferred expertise Fighting: Be it sword, gun or fisticuffs, some understand fighting is an inevitability of life. These individuals focus on enhancing their physique and training to be strong combatants. Intellect: While not as physically strong, they tend to have vast knowledge on a variety of topics. This allows them to help their allies in a variety of situations or outwit their enemies. Subtlety: Projection, Charisma and Deceit are important tools for some. Being able to end a battle for it starts or slip out of sticky social situations can be quintessential. As a Magic User or an Augmented, you can also pick from the preferred expertise but get less benefits in most cases. Expertise Traits
