advertisement
1. I wanted to research the agave plant because it is a very resourceful plant with a wide
range of uses, from food and drinks to materials
2. The agave plant is a plant that thrives in dry areas. It can store a lot of water in its thick
leaves. The agave plant is used to make tequila and mezcal, but it also can be used for
pulque, a traditional drink. The fibers from the agave plant can be used to create things like
rope
3. The agave plant was first used over 9000 yrs ago by the aztecs. It is called in some
countries the ‘tree of miracles’ because it could be used for food, drinks, and materials.
Pulque was an important part of Aztec culture and it was used in rituals and celebrations,
but was usually reserved for important people like priests. After the Spanish arrived, they
brought distillation techniques which led to the creation of mezcal and tequila.
