This is what makes employees happy at work | The Way We Work, a TED series Importance ● Increases production ● Improved job satisfaction ● Higher retention rate ● Enhance creativity and innovation ● Better customer service Introduction ● ● ● ● ● Organizations may use a variety of tactics to successfully encourage and engage their employees. Those include Flexible Scheduling, Teamwork and Collaboration, Recognition and Appreciation, and more. Research has shown that motivated and engaged employees are more likely to be productive, creative, and committed to their organizations, leading to higher levels of performance and ultimately, a successful organization. This allows employees to feel acknowledged and valued. Ways to Motivate (part two) ● Offer Flexible Scheduling -Offering flexible scheduling can promote effectiveness in the workplace as employees do not feel “trapped” at their desk all throughout their work day. ● Promote Teamwork and Collaboration -By allowing employees to collaborate with one another, they can feel a sense of community in their space as well as learn from their colleagues. ● Set Clear and Measurable Goals -Provide employees with clear and concise goals so that they have something to work towards. Preferably setting these goals would happen early on, so that employees know what is expected of them. Engaged employees are 87% less likely to resign from their companies. Employees work 20% better when motivated.
