Islam means to obey Allah and to follow His commands. We are Muslims. A Muslim is a
person who obeys Allah. Faith is the first and Prayer is the second pillar of Islam.
Faith: To believe that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is the
Messenger of Allah. This is called “Faith”.
Prayer: To offer Prayers five times a day. It is the way to worship and to get closer to
Allah. Before offering Prayers we should wash our hands, face and feet in a special
way; this is called ablution (Wuzu). Without ablution we cannot offer Prayers. It is very
important that we keep our clothes and the place of Prayer very clean. Prayer is
compulsory for all the Muslims.
