My name is Emily, and I am a recent graduate from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown
Campus, where I earned an Associate Diploma in Veterinary Technology. I saw your job
posting for a Veterinary Technician and I am writing to express my interest in the position at
Massey Veterinary Hospital.
It is with great enthusiasm that I would like to work for Massey Veterinary Hospital. During
my time at Ridgetown Campus, I acquired valuable knowledge and skills working with
animals; both large and small. I have learned proper laboratory procedures, nursing and
post-op care, animal behaviour and nutrition, patient file management, and many other
skills. I’ve also gained experience assisting during medical procedures, performing diagnostic
testing, and administering medications. This education has fine tuned my organizational and
attention to detail skills, and has prepared me to work in a face-paced environment where I
am confident I can handle both routine and emergency situations.
At the end of my program, I completed a 6-week externship in a clinic where I was able to
gain experience working in the field. I also studied and passed the VTNE, obtaining my full
licence. Now, I am looking to join a professional team where I can continue to grow and
learn, building on my skill set. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your team
at Massey Veterinary Hospital and to provide excellent patient care and client satisfaction.
