Students must submit eligibility letter the first time they want to use IVG at UIC
If a student has not used IVG for more than a year we will request for the student to send in
another eligibility letter to make sure they are still eligible
IVG letters must be submitted by the last scheduled day of classes for the term for which a
student would like to use the benefit
IVG students must have at least a 2.0 GPA; if not they cannot use IVG
IVG covers all tuition and mandatory fees that are charged to every student
If a student uses VA benefits (Post 9/11) the IVG will be prorated accordingly, the VA office puts
a RHACOMM message for these students; so mid semester if you see that an IVG has been
reversed please check RHACOMM first to see if they are using VA benefits. We must bill IVG
back first then let the VA benefits pay.
Max IVG units are 120
Students must be IL residents to use IVG; starting Fall 2023 I will begin to verify IL Residency for
IVG students it will be verified yearly (more to come later waiting of the form to be uploaded so
we can see it on RRAAREQ)
If a student has used IVG in the previous academic year, they do not need to submit a new letter
we roll that information over yearly
All waivers (IVG,ING, MIA/POW) are typically awarded for the new academic year in late July
early August; afterwards they are awarded as I receive eligibility letters
Students can check point usage via the ISAC student portal; we do not tell students how many
points they have used because they can check for themselves

Students apply yearly for ING
Students must apply no later than the last scheduled day of classes for the first term they want
to use benefits
I receive a roster of students that apply for ING; so students don’t have to submit the letter they
receive from ISAC if you don’t see ING awarded check with me and I can check the roster
Max ING units are 120
Students must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
ING pays tuition; so it can be used with MAP because MAP can pay fees; MAP will be adjusted
ING can be used with VA benefits (Post 9/11); If a student uses VA benefits (Post 9/11) the ING
will be prorated accordingly, the VA office puts a RHACOMM message for these students; so mid
semester if you see that an ING has been reversed, please check RHACOMM first to see if they
are using VA benefits. We must bill ING back first then let the VA benefits pay.
