My name is Huu Khue Vo, I'm an international student in grade 11 at Prince of Wales Collegiate, my
TRUE North ID is 1765. I am having issues with my homestay right now.
My homestay location is in Meadow Heights, Portugal Cove and it is too far from the center of St
John's, so it is tough for me to go to the mall or other places in the city. There is no bus stop near my
homestay location so I can't go to the town by bus and if I go on foot it will take about 2-3 hours for
me to walk from here to the center of the town so it is tough for me. My host mother can drive me to
the town and it will take about 20 minutes but because she is usually busy and on the weekend she
usually wakes up very late because she has to work 6 to 7 days a week so she was very tired. And I
don't want to bother her. But I like to walk around the town so I can know more about the life of
people in a different country, I want to experience more here but because of the homestay location
so I can't experience anything much since I came here. And because I will stay here until the end of
high school, it will be really difficult for me if I want to explore, experience, cultural exchange, and
make more friends in this city.
So I don't know if you can help me find another homestay that is nearer to a bus stop or the center of
the town this semester or the next semester. It will help my journey to explore, experience, cultural
exchange, and make more friends in the new country easier and better.
