PEST Analysis Individual Activity ( DO THIS ACTIVITY IN A SHORT BOND PAPER)
*Objective:* Guide students to analyze the macro-environmental factors affecting an industry, company, or
even a future personal endeavor.
Activity:
1. *Select an Industry or Company:* Have each student choose an industry they are interested in (e.g.,
technology, healthcare) or a specific company within that industry.
2. *Research:* Students should research the political, economic, social, and technological factors affecting
their chosen industry or company. This could involve looking at current policies, market trends, consumer
behaviors, and technological advancements.
3. *PEST Analysis Worksheet:* Provide a worksheet with four sections labeled Political, Economic, Social, and
Technological. Students should fill out this worksheet based on their research.
4. *Scenario Writing:* Ask students to write a scenario (1-2 pages) about how these PEST factors might impact
the industry or company in the next 5-10 years. They should consider both positive and negative outcomes.
5. *Personal Reflection:* Students should reflect on the significance of the PEST analysis in understanding the
broader environment. Ask them to consider how this analysis could be applied to their own future decisions,
whether in business or personal life.
6. *Submit Analysis and Reflection:* Finally, students submit their PEST analysis worksheet, scenario, and
personal reflection.
