Homework Policy: Homework is assigned weekly, due at the beginning of class. Each problem is
worth 10 points. Homework may be turned in late, but late homework will be penalized 3 points
per problem if less than 1 week late, 5 points per problem if more than one week late. Homework
must be neat and legible to receive full credit. Submit homework as a single pdf via the Canvas
link. See the example homework link on Module 1 for homework format.
Homework Honor Policy: You may consult any person (including other students and the
instructor) and any source (including notes, books, web sites) concerning the homework
assignments. The only restriction is that you may not consult another person's solution to the
particular problem - you must work each problem yourself. If two students submit exactly the
same solution to a problem, neither student will be given credit for the work.
Test Honor Policy: Both tests will be closed-book and in-class. You may use a calculator. You
may not use any reference including notes or homework. You may not discuss the test with any
person other than the instructor until all students in the class have submitted the test for grading.
Classroom Policies: Students are asked to be ready to start at 1:00 PM. Please stow cell phones
and notebook computers before class.
Disabilities
If you have any special needs due to a disability please let me know by the beginning of the
second week of class. For information on disability accommodations and access, please contact
the Disability Services Office, SSCB Room 1301 or call 281-283-2626.
6 Drop Rule Limitation
- Students who entered college for the first time in Fall 2007 or later should be aware of the
course drop limitation imposed by the Texas Legislature. Dropping this or any other course
between the first day of class and the census date for the semester/session does not affect your
six drop rule count. Dropping a course between the census date and the last day to drop a class
for the semester/session will count as one of your six permitted drops. You should take this into
consideration before dropping this or any other course. Visit www.uhcl.edu/records for more
information on the 6 drop rule and the census date information for the semester/session.
