Checklist for passing your next ACCA exam
Getting prepared for your exam
Know the course
Leave no parts of the syllabus out – you can get a question from anywhere
Plan your study
Make sure you have a detailed study plan and stick to it
Study regularly
60-90 minutes a day for 5 days is much better than one long day
Practice questions
Build your knowledge and practice relevant questions as you go - don’t practice 100’s
of questions; make sure you can answer 20 really well covering the major topics in the
time allowed.
Maximise your CBE practice
It is time to give up the pen and paper if you are taking computer-based exams
Complete a mock exam
Don’t let the first time you attempt the exam be the day of your exam - no 2 subjects
are the same.
Read the examiner report
You need to understand what the examiner wants from you to give you a pass.
Time Management
Never practice a question without a stop watch. Stick to the time available and then
compare to the solution. Figure out where you lost time and avoid that the next time.

Key Exam Tips
Planning
The first part of every exam is key to picking your question order and planning your
solutions. Practice this for every question you attempt and it will become second
nature.
Application
The examiner does not want you to show all your knowledge on a subject, they want
you to apply the knowledge to the scenario provided in the exam – without this you
will struggle to pass.
Time Management
Allocate the correct time to each question and spend no more than that on writing
your solution. Attempting 100% of the paper increases your chances of passing.

Stick to light revision

brain needs to be rested to take on an ACCA exam
