All About Wolves
Wolves are mammals. They live in a group
called a pack. A pack would normally have
around six wolves.
Wolves have:
• rounded ears.
• thick fur.
• a long, bushy tail.
They like to live in areas where there
are lots of animals to hunt and not
many people.
They are mostly black,
white and grey.
Wolves live in:
• woodlands.
• forests.
• deserts.
Wolves howl to talk to
each other.
A wolf’s baby is
called a pup.
Wolves are good hunters. They hunt small animals when they
are alone. A pack of wolves will hunt bigger animals together.
They eat deer and moose.

wolves. Wolves sometimes have to wait up to three days for their next meal.
