Prayer for our most vulnerable
Heavenly Father, we pray that you have a tender heart for all people who are in
harm’s way. Our hearts are tender for them, too. We know that vulnerability comes in
many shapes and all sizes: frail bodies, whether young or aged, ill or disabled; anxious
minds, facing imminent danger or the stress of what may be; downcast spirits, feeling
helpless to protect themselves or their loved ones, or grieving in anticipation of loss.
Give those who are vulnerable in this time of strife a sense of your abiding presence.
Strengthen their flagging spirits. Soothe their troubled minds. Protect their precious
lives, for they are all your beloved children.
Help us to accept the things we cannot change, give us the courage to change the
things we can, and give us the wisdom to know the difference.
