General Mathematics
- Is an introductory, basic, exploratory course in
which the simple and significant principles of
arithmetic, algebra, intuitive geometry, statistics,
and numerical trigonometry are taught so as
emphasize their natural and numerous
interrelations.
Functions
Objectives:
a. define functions and relations;
b. distinguish vertical line test;
c. represent real-life situations using
functions, including piecewise functions.
Questions:
It is the set of first coordinates.

Questions:
Find the domain and range of the given
ordered pairs.
{(1,-1), (2,-3), (0,5), (-1,3), (4,-5), (-1,5), (4,-4)}
Questions:
Find the domain and range of the given
ordered pairs.

Range
Questions:
Find the domain and range of the given
ordered pairs.
{(1,-1), (2,-3), (0,5), (-1,3), (4,-5), (-1,5), (4,-4)}
Domain {-1, 0, 1, 2, 4}
Range
Questions:
Find the domain and range of the given
ordered pairs.
{(1,-1), (2,-3), (0,5), (-1,3), (4,-5), (-1,5), (4,-4)}
Domain {-1, 0, 1, 2, 4}
Range
{-5, -4, -3, -1, 3, 5}
Relation
- Is a rule that values from a set of
values (called the domain) to a set
of values (called the range).
- It is a set of ordered pairs.
Functions
It is a relation in which each
element of the domain
corresponds to exactly one
element of the range.
Functions can be represented in
different ways.

2 Ordered Pairs
{(-2,10), (-1,-7), (0,-4), (1,-1, (2,2)}
Functions can be represented in
different ways.

if and only if each vertical line
intersects the graph at most
once.
