SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN EARTH SCIENCE (GRADE 7)
GRADE 7 – Rizal = 9:45 am – 10:45 am
April 01, 2024
A. Content Standard:
B.
Standard:
I.
The learners demonstrate understanding of how heat is
transferred.
Performance The learners should be able to perform different activities
with regards to heat transfers.
LEARNING COMPETENCY:
Infer the conditions necessary for heat transfer to occur;
Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
S7LT-IIIh-i-12
A. Identify and describe the basic forms of heat transfer.
B. Infer the conditions necessary for heat transfer to occur.
C. Analyze life experiences relating heat transfer.
II.
LEARNING CONTENT
Duration: 60 minutes
Topic: HEAT TRANSFER
Materials:
 Book
 Marker
 Flashlight
 Slide show
 Manila paper
 Printed pictures
 Candle & match stick
 Chalkboard & Chalk
 Spoon /Aluminum
III. PROCEDURE:
A. Introduction (10 minutes)
1. Motivation/Review: Interview
Teacher will give characteristics possessed by a person that starts with letters
The teacher will show situations and students will identify each word
that’s starts with letters H, E, A, T.
1. Air
2. Hot
3. Energized
4. Tired
Ask a student to call a friend and answer a situation
Ask the students about his or her past experience/s involving heat energy
B. Discussion: (20 minutes)
a. Flash the material that will be used in the activity called “Word Search”
Ask the students to find the words that they think are associated with the
word “heat”
b. Allowing the students to explore how heat travels by conduction from hot to cool
objects through liquid and gas and heat travels by radiation through the gas.
This activity is called “Feel the Heat”
c. Discuss the 3 basic heat transfer.
C. Analysis (20 minutes)




Group the learners by 4
Distribute activity sheets and reubrics
Task 1: Transfer of Learning Identify the method of heat transfer described
in each situation below. Write conduction, convection, or radiation on the
space provided before the number.
Task 2: Energy from the Past Directions: Complete the term for the defined
science concept.
Conclusion (10 minutes)

Recap the main points discussed in the lesson, as well as emphasizing the
identification of the three basic heat transfer.
Assessment: Each will be given quiz questionnaire
Direction: Identify the type of heat transfer that is described in the statement and
illustrations below. Write your answer in the space provided before the number.
Assignment:
Direction: Answer in the activity sheet given by the teacher then paste in the
assignment notebook.
