Multi-Lateral Tool Running Guideline
The Coil Solutions Inc. Multi-lateral Re-entry System was designed to reduce cost and job time
allowing access to multi-lateral legs for stimulation and cleanouts.
Featuring a unique Orientation tool that works like a hydraulic knuckle Joint that bends 15 degrees
every second activation. This allows free passage while in run mode that will reduce damage to the
tool string. In addition, the tool will manually bend 5 degrees when entering the lateral increasing
surface pressure at surface to indicate entry of the lateral.
The built in Hydraulic Indexing tool will rotate the tool head 90 degrees every time the tool is
activated, this gives the greatest chance of entering the lateral in the fewest attempts.






Function test at surface to confirm run mode vs. Lateral Entry mode
Open Master Valve. Run In Hole in Run Mode
Run 10m Past Lateral Entry
Function Tool to Lateral Entry Mode
Begin to Pull Out of Hole at 2.5m per minute
(When tool finds Lateral entry, slight fluctuation on the Weight Indicator will
indicate Lateral Entry found. Stop Pulling out of Hole)
 Run In Hole. Once Tool Enters the Lateral, slight overpressure of 2mpa will be
observed as tool bends over.
 Stop Pump and Restart to Switch Back to Run Mode Locked Position
 Running to TD of the Lateral Will Confirm Leg Entry
Note: Depending on the location of lateral entry, tool may need to be functioned on and off a few times while
repeating run procedures to index to the right orientation to enter lateral.
