ALARM MAINTENANCE CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE COMPATIBILITY WITH
BUILDING'S FIRE ALARM SYSTEM.
3. REPROGRAMMING OF THE BUILDING FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL

7. ALL WIRING SHALL BE PER MANUFACTURER'S REQUIREMENT AND
RECOMMENDATION AND MEET APPLICABLE CODE REQUIREMENTS..
8. PROJECT SPECIFIC FIRE ALARM RISER DIAGRAM AND SHOP
DRAWINGS, INCLUDING BATTERY CALCULATIONS AND NOTIFICATION
APPLIANCE CIRCUIT VOLTAGE DROP ANALYSIS PLUS SEQUENCE OF
OPERATIONS, SHALL BE PREPARED AND SUBMITTED, BY THE FIRE
ALARM VENDOR, TO THE PROJECT ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL. ROOM
NAMES AND NUMBERS ON PLANS ARE NOT FOR LABELING OR
PROGRAMMING USE. CONSULT WITH OWNER FOR THIS INFORMATION.
AFTER APPROVAL BY THE ENGINEER, A SUBMITTAL, SIGNED BY A
REGISTERED NICET LEVEL 4, AND ASSOCIATED WITH THE FIRE ALARM
VENDOR, SHALL BE FORWARDED TO THE PROJECT ENGINEER FOR
SUBMITTAL TO THE AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION
9. ALL FIRE ALARM WIRING SHALL BE TYPE FPLP IN RACEWAY AND SHALL
BE CONCEALED IN WALLS AND CEILINGS SPACES.
10. PLENUM RATED CABLE WITHOUT RACEWAY IS ACCEPTABLE ONLY IN
CONCEALED CEILING SPACES. GALVANIZED EMT (3/4" MIN) SHALL BE
USED FOR ALL RUNS BELOW CEILING. METAL WIREMOLD MAY BE USED
ON CEILINGS WHERE NO ACCESS IS AVAILABLE TO CONCEAL
CABLE-RUN. ALL CONDUITS OR WIREMOLD, WHEN EXPOSED, SHALL BE
PAINTED TO MATCH ADJACENT AREA.
11. ALTERNATE IN ATTIC SPACES. (EXTREME HEAT CONDITIONS) CONTACT
PROJECT ENGINEER FOR RESOLUTION.
12. BE FAMILIAR WITH STRUCTURE PRIOR TO START OF WORK IN ORDER
TO PROVIDE A FIRE ALARM SYSTEM THAT COMPLIES WITH ALL
APPLICABLE CODES, OWNER'S UNDERWRITER REQUIREMENTS, AND
RECOMMENDATIONS OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION. IF
CONTRACTOR FAILS TO COMPLY, NO ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
WILL BE AWARDED FOR WORK THAT IS REASONABLE HAD A
PRE-CONSTRUCTION FIELD SURVEY BEEN COMPLETED.
13. A 100% TOTAL ACCEPTANCE TEST SHALL BE PERFORMED AT THE
COMPLETION OF THE NEW FIRE ALARM SYSTEM INSTALLATION PER
INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE (IBC) SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
14. ALARM VENDOR SHALL PROVIDE WIRE GUARDS/COVERS ON ALL
PULL-STATIONS, HORN-STROBES, AND DETECTORS LOCATED IN
PUBLIC AREAS SUCH AS, GYMNASIUMS, LOCKER-ROOMS, ETC.
(TYPICAL) LOW PROFILE DETECTORS SHALL BE USED IN ALL
HALLWAYS.
15. FIRE ALARM SPECIFICATIONS SHALL BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH
ALL DRAWINGS. ANY DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO TO
ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER FOR RESOLUTION.
16. HEAT DETECTORS IN THE ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOMS AND ELEVATOR
SHAFTS SHALL BE PROGRAMMED TO SIGNAL CONTROL MODULES FOR
ELEVATOR SHUT DOWN VIE A SHUNT TRIP ON THE ELEVATOR FEEDER
PER ASME A17.1
17. PROVIDE DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS IN RETURN DUCTS OF ALL HVAC
SYSTEMS OVER 2000 CFM, OR AS REQUIRED BY INTERNATIONAL
MECHANICAL CODE (IMC). DETECTORS, HOUSINGS, AND SAMPLING
TUBES SHALL BE PROVIDED AND WIRED BY THE ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR AND INSTALLED IN THE DUCTWORK BY THE
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR, UNO.
18. PROVIDE A DEDICATED CONTROL MODULE FOR EACH DETECTOR TO
BE PROGRAMMED
TO SEND A SHUTDOWN SIGNAL TO THE HVAC SYSTEM TO SHUTDOWN
THE FAN, MOTORS, DAMPERS, ETC. ALL LOW VOLTAGE WIRING
BETWEEN THE CONTROL MODULE AND THE HVAC SYSTEM SHALL BE
BY THE ATC CONTRACTOR, UNO.
19. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ALL ABOVE CEILING DEVICES AFTER ALL
PIPING, DUCTWORK, CONDUITS, ETC ARE INSTALLED SUCH THAT THE
FIRE ALARM DEVICE IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE. COORDINATE LOCATIONS
WITH THE STRUCTURE AND ALL OTHER UTILITIES.
20. PROVIDE A SMALL SCALE FLOORPLAN INCLUDING ROOM
NAMES/NUMBERS, MOUNTED BEHIND A PLEXIGLASS FRAME,
ADJACENT TO THE REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR PANEL.
