Sample Letter Write a letter to your head teacher explaining why you would or would not want to see Artificial Intelligence used in our school. Dear Sir/Madam, This letter is regarding the proposal being considered in our school – the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the classroom. It is a fact that robots and other technological inventions have taken away the jobs of professionals working in different capacities and roles; however; the pertinent question we are dealing right now is whether AI would strengthen the overall academic setup or prove an eyewash (especially in our school). First of all, one of my concerns is that it could be used to replace teachers for a number of reasons: the unavailability of the required number of teachers; AI may lessen the cost of staff over time and lesser risk of AI to make any mistake. Having said that I also understand that AI is not yet advanced enough to replace the teachers because teachers are human beings, and what makes humans different from robots? The emotion! The way students are emotionally connected to teachers will not be possible with AI. Yes, one collaborative way could be that AI can help teachers by providing them resources and doing their routine task related to assessments and curriculum. Similarly, AI can be helpful in providing teachers specific information about students, however, sometimes it is certainly not needed and can be viewed as an invasion to privacy. Undoubtedly, AI keeps in itself an unlimited learning material which will resultantly prepare the students for their practical life. Furthermore, disabled students will benefit particularly from AI. Also, robots can work 24/7; they can do boring and time consuming tasks. But, the point here is what would happen in case of any technical fault? We would need human intervention. Overall, I reckon that the potential risks of introducing AI in schools outweighs the potential benefits. Whether the situation will reciprocate in the coming future, time will tell. Will robots replicate the teachers? I do not think so. As far as our school is concerned, it is not very wise for the time being to depend on AI completely as parents, teachers and even students would be suspicious about it. Yes, one way could be to introduce it as a helping hand for teachers. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Yours sincerely,
