Only schools where the CJSim™ have been purchased may use this document in any way. 2 CJSim™ Unit Census Introduction The NurseThink® Next Gen Simulator NurseThink® CJSim™ is an active learning tool that engages students with realistic Next Gen and client scenarios to enhance prioritization, delegation, and clinical judgment skills within the framework of Next Gen NCLEX®. CJSim™ provides unique opportunities for classroom, clinical, simulation, group, and individual clinical judgment skill development. The CJSim™ includes the following units: Med Room, Fundamentals, Skilled & Long-term Care, Medical, Surgical, Pediatric, Maternal-Child, Mental Health, Step-down & Critical Care, Pre-hospital & Emergency, Outpatient & Community Health, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Leadership, Health Assessment, Women’s Health, and Skills Lab. CJSim™ Levels: Basic: Client complexity is much like real life. These cases are introduced for beginner nursing students to focus on key factors and begin applying knowledge. Intermediate: Client complexity increases. These cases are used for students who have progressed in knowledge acquisition and continue building on foundational concepts. Advanced: Highest level of complexity for the nurse generalist. Cases involve multiple factors and concepts. Note About Leveling: Students should be challenged to care for clients in the intermediate and advanced levels even from the beginning of the program. Much like in real life and traditional clinical settings, faculty can help the students focus on the key components to meet the learning objectives. The cases labeled “Practice” will give the students all the answers in a summary at the conclusion of the case. Those not labeled practice will only show the student’s answers (not the right answers), time spent, overall score, and the consider questions. The first 3 (three) cases in select units are found in the trial version. 3 CJSim™ Unit Census The NurseThink® CJSim™ provides a varied experience with each attempt by randomizing the questions. Each student will have a unique quiz with each attempt. Each CJSim™ case is designed to represent diverse experiences as part of the NCSBN® Clinical Judgment Measurement Model and the Nursing Process. Due to question randomization, the blueprint provided is case-specific, not question-specific. Every case gives an overview to include background, major concepts and exemplars, and other blueprint information. Cases will overlap into multiple categories, but only the main category is labeled per case. Additionally, there are intentional errors built into the scenarios. Due to the randomization of the questions, you may notice errors in the electronic health record that are not addressed in your specific question. Ideas for NEW CJSim™ cases or any feedback can be sent to nursethink_help@wolterskluwer.com 4 CJSim™ Unit Census Med Room Med Room Concept Exemplar Blueprint CJSim™ Overview Keywords Avery Dawson: 26 Years/ Basic Safety Medication Administration NCLEX® Client Needs – Pharmacological and Parenteral Therapies QSEN – Safety NCJMM – Take Actions Practice Nurse providing medications for a postoperative client.
