The recent BSOD

advertisement
The recent BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) incidents in July 2024 were primarily caused by updates KB5028185 and
KB5040427 for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Users reported frequent BSODs after installing these updates,
particularly on systems running Windows 11 Version 22H2 and newer.
The issues began shortly after these updates were deployed, with many users experiencing crashes shortly after
logging into their systems. Some reported repeated BSODs within a short span of time, making their devices
unusable. The updates were intended to include various system improvements and security fixes, but instead, they
led to system instability for many users【6†source】【7†source】.
Microsoft acknowledged the problem and has been working on providing patches to resolve the issues. In the
meantime, some users have found temporary relief by uninstalling the problematic updates, though this is not a
guaranteed fix for all systems.
For those affected, it is recommended to keep an eye on the official Microsoft support pages and community forums
for further updates and potential workarounds as Microsoft continues to address the problem.
