WHAT IS IT FOR?
Emirates ID is an official identity document for residents of the
UAE (not to be confused with a passport). You can obtain it after
applying for a residency visa.
Emirates ID is now used almost everywhere.
The options for residency in Dubai are extensive: freelancer visa,
investor visa, retirement visa, company formation visa, student visa,
and work visa.
Without an Emirates ID, you won't be able to:
Register in the Ejari system (apartment lease contract)
Connect utilities and internet services
Open a bank account
Register and purchase a vehicle
Pay fines and much more.
Obtaining UAE residency through real estate is the most popular and accessible legal method for foreign citizens to reside in the country.
A 2-year residency visa is granted when purchasing a property in Dubai worth over 750,000 dirhams (approximately $205,000 USD).
Investors can also utilize a mortgage for this.
A 5-year retirement visa is available for investors aged 55 and older when buying a property in Dubai worth at least 1 million dirhams
(around $275,000 USD).
A 'Golden Visa' for 10 years is issued for property purchases in the UAE with a minimum value of 2 million dirhams (approximately
