CONSTRUCTION PROPERTIES 1. SITE CLEARANCE AND STRIPPING OF TOPSOIL (IF ANY) TO SPECIFICATION. 2. PROOF ROLL OF THE EXISTING GROUND SURFACE TO PREPARE A STABLE WORKING PLATFORM. 3. INSTALL PREFABRICATED VERTICAL DRAINS AT SPECIFIED SPACING AND LENGTH OR TO REFUSAL DEPTH. 4. LAY GEOTEXTILE SEPERATORS AS SPECIFICATIONS. 4. CONTINUE FILLING WITH SUITABLE FILL MATERIAL TO 3000MM DEPTH. THIS FILL MATERIALS WILL ALSO ACT AS SURCHARGE LOAD PURPOSE 5. INSTALL DEEP SETTLEMENT GAUGES AT SPECIFIED LOCATIONS AND TAKE INITIAL READINGS. 6. CONTINUE FILLING WITH SUITABLE FILL MATERIAL UNTIL THE REQUIRED THICKNESS OF SURCHARGE ACHIEVED NOTES 1. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE IN MILLIMETRES UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED. 2. THE ESTIMATED SURCHARGE REST PERIOD IS SHOWN IN THE TREATMENT SCHEDULE AT EACH STAGE, THE SURCHARGE REST PERIOD SHALL START UPON REACHING THE TOP OF THE SURCHARGE REDUCED LEVEL BASED ON THE SURCHARGE THICKNESS. 3. SAND FILL ABOVE STANDING WATER LEVEL IN DRY CONDITION SHALL BE COMPACTED TO 90% MAXIMUM DRT DENSITY (BS1377: PART 4: 1990 METHOD 3.5 OR 3.6) 4. THE SUITABLE FILL MATERIAL FOR BOTH EMBANKMENT AND SURCHARGE SHALL BE OMPACTED TO 90% MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY (BS1377: PART 4: 1990 METHOD 3.5 OR 3.6) 5. ADEQUATE GRADIENT SHALL BE PROVIDED ALONG THE TEMPORARY PERIMETER DRAIN 6. TO ENABLE THE COLLECTED WATER TO BE DISCHARGED TO THE NEARBY POND/STREAM. THE TEMPORARY DRAIN SHALL BE MAINTAINED UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF THE SURCHARGE PRELOADING PERIOD. 7. THE DRAINAGE BLANKET TOWARDS THE TOES OF THE EMBANKMENT SHALL BE MAINTAINED FREE OF CONTAMINATION AND EROSION TO ENABLE THE PORE WATER FROM THE PVO TO BE EFFECTIVELY DRAINED AWAY FROM THE TOE EMBANKMENT BY DRAINAGE DITCHES OR OTHER SUITABLE MEANS. 8. THE SURCHARGE FILL SHALL ONLY BE REMOVED AFTER ACHIEVING DEGREE OF CONSOLIDATION AS STATED IN THE SCHEDULE BASED ON INSTRUMENTATION READINGS OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. 9. FOR STABILITY PURPOSE, RATE OF FILLING SHALL NOT EXCEED 0.8m PER WEEK. 10. THE PREFABRICATED VERTICAL DRAIN AND BASAL REINFORCEMENT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE SPECIFICATION. 11. INSTRUMENTATION MONITORING SHALL BE CONTINUED AFTER DEMOVAL OF SURCHARGE TO VERIFY THAT CONSOLIDATION SETTLEMENTS HAVE CEASED PRIOR TO HANGING OVER THE SITE. 11. ASAOKA'S METHOD SHALL BE ADOPTED FOT THE VERIFICATUION OF DEGREE OF CONSOLIDATION BASED ON INSTRUMENTATION MONITORING.
