Robert Rijos Topic Selection Assignment Program of Study- Masters in Sports Science & Rehabilitation Topic A- The Effects of Cervical Chiropractic Adjustment on Neurological and Behavioral Disorders such as ADHD Delving into the outcomes of the chiropractic manipulations, specially on the cervical region in regard to neurological disorders like ADHD is a big area of research opportunity because it enters an area that is still without sufficient and reliable results and can have considerable implications for more viable options for the patient to manage their health. By investigating whether chiropractic interventions can positively influence ADHD symptoms, this research could provide alternative treatment strategies that might reduce reliance on medication, thereby minimizing the risk of side effects and dependency. Additionally, understanding the impact of chiropractic care on neurological pathways could enhance our knowledge of the broader applications of chiropractic adjustments beyond traditional musculoskeletal issues. Topic B-Integration of Chiropractic Care in the Interdisciplinary Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions in Emergency Room Settings Investigating the introduction of chiropractic specialist into the interdisciplinary team in the emergency room (ER) setting for the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal or neurological conditions is another research topic with a lot of potential. This study could demonstrate how chiropractic integration might optimize patient outcomes by delivering less invasive and drug-free management of common complaints of the entire spine, headaches and associated risks/secondary effects for other types of more aggressive treatments/medications. Subsequently, this integration could improve the efficacy and efficiency of ER care, providing a wholistic approach to treatment that may benefit the healthcare system and the patient.
