Guidelines for C a p s t o n e Project Course: 24ONMCR755
The Project Course is equivalent to two courses. However, for registration purposes the Project Course
(24ONMCR755) is treated as one course, which is of Eight Credits. For this course no additional study
material is provided.
The basic purpose of this course is to help learners develop an ability to apply multi- disciplinary concepts,
tools and techniques to analyze and logically approach the organizational problems. The Project study
should be on a topic preferably from your area of specialization in M.COM.
PROJECT SUBMISSION & EVALUATION PROCESS
To proceed with your project course, the to p ic approval of the Project is necessary. Only on the
approval of the Project the work could be taken up. The Project should be an original work done by the
student. The process that is involved in the evaluation and final approval of the Project is explained below:
1. Selection of topic by the student:
The learner can select any topic of her/his choice, preferably in their area of interest. The title should be
definitive communicating key information about the Project. It should convey the subject matter being covered
in the project.
It could be either be an:
• Comprehensive case study (covering single organization/multifunctional area problem formulation, analysis
and recommendations).
• Inter-organizational study aimed at inter-organizational comparison/validation of theory/survey of
management practices.
• Field study or Review study.
2. Guide Allocation:
Every student will be allocated with a guide, who will help you with your project. This guide will be actively
taking part in the evaluation process. Should you fail to connect with the guide you will not be eligible for
submission. Students are required to get their projected vetted by the guide. Seek and implement the inputs
given by the guide. A student is allowed to reach out to the guide only 3 times.
3. Instructions for filling up the Proforma for Approval of Project Topic:
(i) UID No: Mention the UID number assigned to you by the university. If your maximum duration of the
programme (i.e. 2 years) is over you need to seek Re-admission, before sending the Project. In case your
Project was Approved on the earlier Enrolment Number, then the same has to be sought for the New
Enrolment Number again, if you fail todo so the Project Report may not be accepted.
(ii) Subject Area: The broad subject area on which you intend to carry out your project work should be
mentioned (example: if you are doing your project on ‘Financial Performance of XYZ Ltd’ then the Subject
Area would be Finance).
(iii) Title of the Project: this is the final topic on which you will be carrying on the Project Work. It should be
concise indicating clearly the work being taken up for study. The Final Project Report should necessarily be
on the title approved by the evaluator, no changes could be made while submitting the Final Project
Report.
4. Preparation of Proposal of the Project:
After allocation of the guide and finalizing the topic, the Project Proposal (Project) should be prepared in
consultation with the guide. The proposal of the project should essentially have the following:
(i) Certificate of Originality: You will have to have add the certificate on the second page of your project. The
draft of the certificate shall be added on the LMS.
(ii) Introduction: a brief background about the subject chosen for study.
(iii) Rationale: why a particular topic has been chosen for the project work.
(iv) Objectives: This is the most important aspect of any project. It should mention clearly and precisely the
things which you hope will be able to know/achieve atthe end of the study. These may be clearly stated
in behavioral terms. Objectives need to be expressed in a neutral manner, without any implicit assumptions
about the findings of the research.

• Tools and Techniques to be used for data collection – details of the tools/questionnaire to be used and its
relevance with the objectives of the project.
• Method/s to be used for data collection.
• Data handling and analysis- organization and analysis of data. Statistical tools tobe used for analysis.
Relevance of statistical tools with the objectives of the project.
(vi) Limitation or Scope of study of the proposed project, if any.
5. Preparation of Project Report:
Once you have carried out the study as envisaged in the approved Project then a report ofthe work done
needs to be prepared. The length of the report may be a minimum of 5000 words not exceeding 18,000 words
(excluding appendices and exhibits).

7. Submission of Project:

The last date to submit the project is 25th July 2024.
Submission will be done on the LMS. Under the project submission tab.
This tab will be activated 2 weeks after the project is launched.
8. Evaluation of the Project:
The evaluation will be done by 3 panelists. The project is of 100 marks. The final grades are not published, they
will be added in the grade sheet. However, feedback will be shared to the students via email from their mentors
after the submissions.
9. Plagiarism:
The Project Report submitted by the student should be free from a n y k i n d o f plagiarism i n his/her original
work. In case if the project report is found to be plagiarized, action will be taken as per the policy of the University.

▪ You will have to finalise a topic within the given deadline – 25 MAY 2024
Start working on your project.
You are allowed to seek guidance from your project guide for a maximum of 3 times.
Failing to consult your guide, you will fetch yourself 0 marks.
Follow all the deadlines strictly. You will not be allowed to submit the project after the deadlines.

1. Form release date for topic finalization: May 15, 2024
2. Deadline to submit the form for topic finalization: May 25, 2024
3. You can connect with your guide from: May 27, 2024
4. You will receive confirmation of Topics or feedback (if any) via email by: May 31, 2024
5. Tentative draft to be created and discussed with your guide between: June 1, 2024 – June 31, 2024
6. Finalization of draft of the project and submission to be done between: July 1, 2024 – July 25, 2024
7. Last date to submit the project: JULY 25, 2024
