Question #1: Define the differentiability of functions of several variables and then use this to check the differentiability of the function 𝑓(𝑥, 𝑦) = 𝑥 2 𝑦 at the point (1,2). Question # 2: Define the directional derivative of a point 𝑋⃑ in 𝑅 𝑛 in the direction of 𝜙⃑⃑ . Then using this formula find the directional derivative of 𝑓(𝑥, 𝑦) = 𝑥 2 𝑦 + 𝑦 3 in the direction of 𝜙⃑⃑ = (1,2) at the point (1,1).
