The main role of carbs, is to give you energy for your workout.
And after your workout, carbs are here to replenish your glycogen stores.
Which basically means, that your body needs to replenish its energy reserves, and because the first
thing, that your body uses for energy is carbs, you need to replenish them after your workout.
Thats why you should eat most of your carbs before and after your workout, as i will explain later on
in the Step By Step Bulking Guide.
Here is an illustration of the glycogen stores, to help you visualize what i mean.
You can choose from a wide variety of carb sources.
These are the ones that i use the most:
Rice, potatoes, quinoa, oats, pasta, whole wheat bread, bananas.
You can pretty much choose anything, as long as it is not just sugar, or heavily refined grains like
white bread, as these kinds of foods just dont have any nutritional value.
