DELAYED FLAP APPROACH
Do not use this technique for a non-precision approach.
The general steps for the delayed flap approach:
• Intercept the glide slope with FLAPS 5 at FLAPS 5 speed.
• Approaching 2,000 feet AAL or 7 NM to runway threshold, extend landing gear, select FLAPS 15, and
reduce the speed to the FLAPS 15 speed.
• Approaching 1,500 feet AAL or 5 NM to runway threshold, select landing flaps, reduce the speed to the final
approach speed, and then adjust thrust to maintain it.
• Perform the Landing Checklist.
