Preparation is key!
Know yourself and the role:
Dress code:
Before your interview think about what key skills and
attributes you have that would be suited to the role you are
being interviewed for. Read over the position description
and align your skills, attributes and capabilities to the
requirements of the role. This will help you to articulate your
suitability for the role in a concise and confident way.
The general rule for interviews is to overdress
rather than underdress. Know your audience and
who you are meeting with. If you have any doubts
don’t hesitate to contact your recruiter.
Keep your answers specific and on track:
Ensure you come to the interview prepared. It’s to your
advantage to carefully research Findex, the job, and the
business unit.
First impressions really do count.
And one of the biggest first impressions you can
make is arriving on time. Ensure you have all the
necessary details of your interview and give
yourself plenty of time to arrive at your destination.
It’s better to get there a bit early and take the
pressure off that comes from running late.

Have some good questions up your sleeve:
Be positive:
An interview is not only about us finding out more about you
but an opportunity for you to find out more about the role
and what it’s like to work here. By asking informed
questions it gives you the ability to demonstrate your
interest in the role and that you’ve done your research too.
Try to steer clear of dwelling on past negative
experiences at work. Instead, if you’ve faced
challenges in the past, focus on the lessons
learned from your experiences and how that will
help you in the future.
Be proactive:
Practice makes perfect:
Find out more about your interviewers if you can. Locate
them on LinkedIn and connect with them. This
demonstrates that you are really interested in the team and
the role.
This maxim could not be truer with job interviews.
But remember, an interview is not about
memorizing information and going in “rehearsed”.
Practicing can help to settle the nerves.
