SECRETS OF GHATAKA CHAKRA Ghataka means an experience of an extreme negative sense, both mentally as well as physically. The extremity can range from killing, main or to hurt generating an injury. Just like the Panchanga has 5 dimensions relating to quality of time, Ghataka can play out in 5 dimensions relating to quality of dangers. The five dimensions of Ghataka are as follows: - Ghataka Chandra – This refers to the moon transiting an inauspicious Rasi indicating Ghataka or danger - Ghataka Tithi – The inauspicious lunar day or tithi indicating Ghataka or danger - Ghataka Nakshatra – The inauspicious nakshatra that indicates Ghataka or danger - Ghataka Vara – The inauspicious weekday indicating Ghataka or danger - Ghataka Sthana – The inauspicious place the danger could manifest. The ancient rishi’s have taught two reference models with which the Ghataka can be understood. I have put these two reference models in the form of two tables. Table 1 is called the Ghataka Chakra while table 2 is called Ghataka tithi chakra (see both in the image attached with this post). Interpretation of Ghataka Chakra: Taking an example of a person whose natal Chandra is in Sagittarius (Janma Rasi), the native will have to be very careful whenever moon is transiting Pisces or Dvija (another name for Bharani nakshatra). The native must also be careful when the weekday happens to be Friday and the lunar day happens to be Tritiya (3), Ashtami ( ,trayodasi (13) as these tithis are a part of the Jaya tithi group. Now, if many of these Ghataka elements happen together, then extreme danger is to be expected. Ghataka Chakra usage in matching horoscopes: When matching horoscopes there is a predominant usage of the 36 points matching. The tradition has always warned us not to use the 36 point system as the only benchmark for matching horoscopes. Other methods like sama-sapthaka, Upapada and subhapathi lord’s matching gives a very good picture, one needs to also use Ghataka chakra concepts for matching. The basic principle is to find out the presence of Ghataka elements in the charts of the partners. For example Ghataka tithi of a partner should not fall in the Ghataka tithi of the other partner and vice versa. As the name suggests, Ghataka chakra is seen for any kind of injuries, may it be Physical or Mental. The injuries can be inflicted at an inopportune moment or by an inimical person. Both of these can be seen from the Ghataka Chakra. For the first instance, the inopportune time can be seen from the horoscope of the moment of occurance of the event and for the latter case, the same can be seen from the horoscope of the person inflicting pain and injury. Ghataka is essentially the evil of Mars, and in relationships we need to be very careful about this as the karakas Venus and Mars are deeply inimical towards each other, to the extent of Mars causing Kuja dosha and what not to delay or end the marriage. So Ghataka is a very important part of matching horoscopes also. Prefer to reject tithi-ghataka relations as they invariably will give some mental suffering. Lagna, Rasi and Tithi Ghataka are quite essential, whilst Nakshatra and Vara Ghataka should only be seen if you fear that the partners are going to beat each other up or kill each other as these last types of ghataka deal with the body. Lagna, Rasi and Tithi ghataka deal with emotions. For all ghatakas the remedy is the pacification of Mars. I advise offering Yellow Flowers to the Devi (Martian form: Chamundi, Bagalamukhi, etc) or Hanuman (Mars), with the left hand (asking for removal of negativity). This should be done on a Tuesday. Do not advise Hanuman or Skanda mantras as this may increase the martian tendencies and can give problems in relationships... Cool it down and worship the Mother with the Navarna Mantra for Chamundi. Note: With the right hand we increase the positive; it is like the 'Ra' Akshara which literally makes this 'Rise'. With the left hand we decrease the negative; it is like the 'La' akshara which 'Lessens' the negative. The left hand is used for temporary means to reduce the negative effects of a dasa which is ongoing, and the gemstone is only worn during that dasa. As for the five articles of offering, please be careful about experimenting. Flowers are specifically 'akasha tattva' and rules the sambandha/yoga that you have with this world, or in particular 'with a certain person'. By offering flowers with the left hand you are asking for the negative aspects of a relationship to go away, and the particular color of the flower will indicate which aspects of the relationship. Yellow is associated with Scorpio; the natural eighth house of diseases, accidents, dustha karma, etc. By offering yellow flowers with the left hand you are asking for these negative indications to leave. If offering is with the right hand, then you are asking for the positive indications of kundalini energy, understanding of jyotish, etc, to increase and stay with you... all depends on purpose. Now imagine if you were to offer navaidya with the left hand - Navaidya is Jala Tattva and represents our sustenance in this world... So you want food to leave you!!??...BE CAREFUL! What you give to the deity is what you get, so surely you should be careful about what you give. As shown in the ghataka chakra, based on the position of natal moon, one of the specific element of time namely Moon sign (rasi), Lunar day (Tithi), Weekday (vara), Lunar Asterism (Nakshatra) or the Ascendant (Lagna) can be inauspicious. Following priciples can be used in the analysis of the Ghataka Chakra: 1. If at any moment, there is preponderance of the ghataka elements, then there can be some injury/ pain inflicted on the person. So one must regularly checkout the Lunar Transit through the sign and the Nakshatra, the solar and lunar days and the Lagna of the moment to carry out some activities or remain cautioned about some impending danger. If many of the ghataka elements come together, then there can be indications of danger during that time. For example, I am born with Scorpio Lagna and I must be careful on the days when Moon is transiting through Taurus or Revati Nakshatra and that day happens to be a Friday and the lunar day happens to be a Nanda Tithi (pratipada-1, shasthi-6 or ekadasi-11). 2. The relationship of a person can also be checked using the Ghataka Chakra. To check this out, we need to check the presence of the Ghataka elements in the other person's horoscope. Thus for me (born in Scorpio Rasi), the natives with Taurus Rasi, Revati Nakshatra, born on Friday, in the Nanda Tithi and/or with Scorpio (Male) or Taurus (Female) Lagna can inflict injury. The presence of more ghataka elements confirm this. 3. The nature of injury can be seen from the nature of ghataka element and the lord of the element. If the ghataka element happens to be Moon, then the injury is on reputation, if they happen to be Weekday or the Lagna, the injury is more physical and if they happen to be Tithi or Nakshatra, the injiry is more mental and emotional. The lord of the ghataka element which caused the injury can say more on the exact nature of the injury based on its lordship, placement and yogas.
