INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT ON THE ASIAN HIGHWAY

ENTRY INTO FORCE OF AMENDMENTS TO ANNEX I TO THE AGREEMENT 1
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, acting in his capacity as depositary and with
reference to depositary notification C.N.478.2023.TREATIES-XI.B.34 of 29 November 2023
concerning the adoption of amendments to Annex I to the above Agreement, communicates the
following:
Within the period of six months following the date of the above depositary notification, none
of the Parties to the Agreement expressed an objection. Therefore, in accordance with paragraph 5 of
article 9 of the Agreement, the proposed amendments are deemed to be accepted.
Pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 6 of article 9 of the Agreement, the amendments to
Annex I to the Agreement shall enter into force for all Parties three months after the expiry of the period
of six months from the date of the above notification, i.e., on 29 August 2024.
