How we got here
How racism was constructed and why we are still stuck
What is my role as an ccomplice:
1) Get angry. Racism harms us all
2) Keep learning. Continue to learn to become a support
3) Identify where I and my family hold influence in our spaces. Because white people are more
likely to listen to each other
4) Listen to the stories of Folx of the Global Majority and believe them
5) Redistribute resources and support the work of BIPoC. Donate funds or time to Folx of the
Global Majority.
6) Stand up to police brutality by attending local protests and rallies
7) Identify racism and always question it
8) Speak up and out
9) Defend those who are being subject to racism and talk back at the racist
10) Read books and stories that are written by PPl of color and which portrary ppl of color in a good
way
11) When you hear racist phrases and abuse at school, report racists to the teacher, principal or any
adult
12) Notice when you are appreciating the culture of the black
13) Stand up against anti-immgrant attitudes and actions
14) Be mindful of the space you are taking up.
15) Check in with the Folx of the Global Majority.
Being an ally is life-long work. Do it all the time and not on and off. Remember you are working
toward for a more just society. Listen and recognize that what you have to say is not more important
than what the others have to say. We all have different story to tell and perspective to share.
Educating ppl about their oppression is not the job of Flox of the Majortiy. It is the job of white ppl to
listen, learn and grow.
