Job Application Assignment Your assignment is to prepare a job-application file (cover letter and resume) customized to one of the job ads posted in the Week 2 module: Job Postings (Ads) for Job-application Assignment. In one file, include a job-specific cover letter (up to one page) a job-specific resume, designed to fit one or two full pages (two if you have 10+ years of relevant work experience). The letter and resume should be future dated to June, 2027 when you've graduated with your diploma. Check the BCIT website for your program to discover your second-year courses. Assume your results in those courses as well as other likely content that will come from 2026 and the first half of 2027. NOTE: This assignment has plagiarism-detection software (Turnitin) enabled. The folder allows unlimited submissions, and only the most recent submission is kept. Submit enough in advance of the due date that you can check the submission's Turnitin score. If the Turnitin score is above 0%, review your submission to be sure it is original. A cover message should contain only your own original content and expression. Judge what is coincidental general phrasing versus what is copying. For example, if the software flags general cover-letter phrasing such as "I am applying for the position of" or "I look forward to an interview" or "Please reach me at" or "I have enclosed a resume," don't worry about that. If it flags company names, don’t worry about that. On the other hand, if it flags specific phrasing that you copied from a sample somewhere, revise the submission so that its content and expression are your own, submit the revision, then check the Turnitin score again. Do this as many times as you need to; it will help you learn what is considered plagiarism. Please check with me if you are not sure whether a phrase can be considered a commonly used expression.
