How To Train
Your Brain
This interactive growth mindset activity workbook teaches kids to train their
brains to get stronger. Using multisensory activities, they learn about their
unique strengths, learning style, and how to use their senses to improve. This
is a great way to encourage a positive learning attitude for all learners.
Working through the exercises highlights that everyone has different
strengths, abilities, ways of learning, and that we can all get stronger.
Activities include looking, reading, writing, drawing, telling, singing, moving
and thinking.
This is an excellent activity for special education and counseling groups. It is
a great way to begin tutoring sessions, particularly for those who learn
differently.
Print a copy of pages 2-8 for each student and staple to create the
workbook. The exercises can be done as a whole class activity, small group,
or individually. For younger children and those with reading challenges, the
teacher should read it aloud.
Who benefits from multisensory learning? Everyone We all learn with our
whole body and we all have a multisensory brain. We all have different
learning styles.
What is multisensory learning? It is learning that involves the use of our senses,
primarily visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. By incorporating all senses into the
learning process, different parts of the brain are simultaneously activated
which helps to enhance memory and the learning of written language. It
also helps learners discover what learning style fits them best. It provides
more ways for understanding new information, more ways to remember it
and more ways to recall it later.

Auditory
My brain can do amazing things. It tells my body what to do. It helps me breathe,
move, and think. It helps me learn. When I work hard and practice, it gets stronger.
How do I make it super strong? I practice with all my senses.
When I use my eyes to see things, it’s called visual
When I touch and move things, it’s called kinesthetic
When I hear things, it’s called auditory
When I use them all, it’s called multi-sensory

How To Train Your Brain
To Be Strong
Your brain uses all of your senses to learn. You may learn better using
one, but you need them all. Check the one that you think is the best
for you.
Think of some things you want to improve at. How will you use your
senses to practice? You can use smell and taste too. Write, draw, or
tell your ideas to someone.
